What is a wading boot?
- A wading boot provides foot stability and protection in slippery waters. It is designed to be worn with waders that have a waterproof neoprene bootie or with wading socks. Made of durable, water-resistant materials, they allow water to drain quickly, keeping your feet dry inside the neoprene bootie or wading sock.
How are Miss Mayfly boots sized?
We have already worked in the room needed for socks and booties. Order your true Women’s US shoe size. Only size up to the next size if:
- You sometimes wear a half size
- Your big toe is not your longest toe.
- Your foot is extra-wide width and has had trouble fitting in other wading boots.
Do wading boots come in half sizes?
- Wading boots are usually made in whole sizes only. The fit can be adjusted by changing the thickness of the socks worn, and the boots compress underwater, removing small empty spaces.
How should a wading boot fit?
- A wading boot should fit firmly with minimal movement inside. If a wading boot is too loose, it may cause a loss of balance which will increase the chances of falling. If the foot is sliding forward & back, side to side or up and down at the heel- it's too loose, it can cause instability and damage to the neoprene bootie. It is preferred for your toes to reach the tip of boot. If the toes are bent or pinched, the boot is too small. It is normal to feel pressure throughout the foot. They will loosen when worn in water.
How long does it take to break in new wading boots?
- Wading boots break in quickly once submerged in water. They should feel tight initially but will become comfortable during the first use. If purchased comfortable when new, they may become too loose after breaking in.
Why should I wear socks with neoprene booties?
- Insulated socks are recommended to regulate temperature and fill any empty spaces inside the neoprene bootie. They help keep feet dry and warm by wicking moisture away from the skin.
What is the best method to lace boots?
- Stability: The most important point for boot stability is the angle from the heel to the top of the ankle bend- as shown in the following illustration: Pay extra attention to tighten your laces at this key point to ensure that the boot provides its full extent of stability. This will also pull your heel back into the heel cradle and prevent pressure on the toes.
- Motion: Casually but firmly lace up the ankle. Do not choke the ankle by overtightening because this will restrict blood flow, reduce ligament, and muscle movement. This is where we need movement and is not where we receive stability.
- Securing Loops: Double down your loop ends after tying. Take the two bow loops and pull them back over the shoelace hooks (on top of the previously hooked lace), pull the two tag ends tight and tuck them into neck of boot. This will prevent your laces from loosening throughout the day. Sure!
Common Mistakes:
- Wearing boots that are too big.
- Sizing up to make room for neoprene booties (most brands account for this in their sizing).
Do tight boots cut off circulation?
- Tight boots can reduce circulation if ankle laces are over-tightened, especially for women with larger calves. Proper fitting boots are essential for comfort and safety.
Do women have weaker ankles?
- Women’s ligaments are more lax due to hormones, making them more prone to sprains. Proper fitting boots provide the necessary support and stability.

Domestic Shipping
Fulfillment Locations- Delivery Times
We ship next business day, from Missouri, Monday - Friday.
The cut off time for same day order fulfillment is 12pm EST Monday-Friday. Fulfillment services are closed on weekends and holidays. Orders placed after 12 pm on Friday, will not ship until Monday, including express and overnight shipments.
Flat Rate Services: We ship USPS and UPS, choosing the carrier with the best delivery times and rates per the service selected and your location.
Express or Expedited Services: Delivery times differ by carrier and service chosen and will be estimated in the checkout process. Carriers no longer guarantee delivery times as quoted. We suggest allowing 1-2 extra days for carrier delays, especially near holidays.
Miss Mayfly is not in control of, nor responsible for carrier delivery times and/or delays and does not refund shipping fees.

Tracking & Delivery
Tracking: Customers receive order and tracking info via email after placing an order. This info can also be accessed by logging into your Miss Mayfly® account. For tracking issues or if your package doesn’t arrive on time, submit an “Orders & Shipping Help” request through the Help Center Dashboard.
Lost Package: Once the package is with the carrier, it is out of our control. We do not receive preferential treatment from carriers. Visiting your local Post Office or UPS Office in person with your tracking number is often the most effective way to receive help from the carrier. If tracking fails, and your package has not arrived within 10 days of the carrier received date, please contact us to file a claim. After 10 days, and claim filing is complete, If the package is confirmed to be lost in transit, we will replace the product.
Package Theft: Suspected theft should be reported to the appropriate authorities as it is a criminal matter. Once the package has been delivered, the carriers responsibility is fulfilled. Miss Mayfly® does not replace stolen packages.

International Policy: Miss Mayfly® ships products internationally with the following policies differing from domestic shipping:
Exchange Shipping: Complimentary exchange shipping is not available for international orders. To ensure proper handling of duties & taxes, it is best to request a return & refund back to store credit or to original form of payment, to repurchase again.
Duties, Taxes, and Fees: Duties and taxes will be managed by Shopify Managed Markets and calculated at checkout. Customers are responsible for all shipping Fees, duties, taxes, and fees for outgoing and returned products.
Shipping: Delivery times will be revealed at checkout and are the carriers estimate. Carriers no longer guarantee delivery times quoted at the time of purchase. We suggest assuming delivery will take an extra 2-3 days from calculated quote. Miss Mayfly is not in control of, nor responsible for carrier delivery times and/or delays and does not refund shipping fees.

Repackaging Directions
Please remember to include any packaging and accessory items included with your product as follows:
- Waders: Tags, belt, bag, patch kit
- Boots: Undamaged box, boot stuffing and paper packaging
- Other: Return with product packaging intact
Please make sure item is clean upon return as follows:
- Waders: Please use a lint brush or tape to remove hair/debris from wader booties. To prevent creasing damage, fold the booties flat, with the entire bootie bottom facing outward.
- Boots: Wipe down any debris from boot surfaces and replace boot stuffing prior to shipping.
Miss Mayfly® Exchange, Return & Refund Policy
2a. Complimentary* Exchange: Customers can exchange products within 30 days of the ship date (return window). Miss Mayfly® will provide complimentary shipping labels for one return & outgoing shipment per "exchange" order. Products must be returned in new, unused condition in original packaging. Exchange orders will be shipped upon receiving the original purchase.
*For customers located within the continental & pacific regions within United States.
2b. Refunds: Refunds must be requested within 30 days of the ship date. Products must be returned in new, unused condition in original packaging. Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment or as store credit (as chosen) after the item is received. Once received, please allow up to 5 business days for return clearing, plus up to 5 days for refund processing.
*A restocking fee of up to 3% may be applied for refunds of 3 or more items per order.
Exclusions (2a, 2b): If a product is not returned in new and unused condition, Miss Mayfly® may deny a full or partial refund or exchange. A fee may be deducted the returned product is dirty or damaged ($25-$75) or has missing parts, accessories, or packaging ($15-$25).
Exchange, Return & Refund Shipping Policy
2c. Shipping Charge Refund: Shipping charges paid during purchase or for independently purchased labels are non-refundable.
2d. Return & Refund Shipping Costs: A return shipping label will be provided if occurring within the return window. Original shipping charges plus return shipping charge will be deducted from refund.
2e. International Orders: To ensure proper duty payments and refunds, we are unable to exchange International orders. Please request return and refund to store credit to repurchase.
Shipping label fees are non-refundable. International customers are responsible for all shipping, duties, taxes for purchases & returns, including incoming and outgoing shipment costs. Original shipping fee will be deducted from the refund. Return shipping fees will be billed to customer up front, or will be deducted from refund.
Payments and refunds, including duties and taxes, are managed by Shopify "Managed Markets" and will be refunded as legally appropriate.
HS Code: For repaired items returned to the U.S., use HS code 9802.001. Specifically, 9802.00.40 for warranty repairs or alterations, and 9802.00.50 for non-warranty shipments.
Miss Mayfly® Manufacturer Warranty
This warranty covers Miss Mayfly "wading gear" including waders and boots. Other apparel and fishing items are exempt from this warranty policy and are covered under the return policy.
1a. 12 Month Limited Manufacturer Warranty: Miss Mayfly® wading gear is guaranteed against factory defects for 12 months from the shipment date. Defective products will be repaired or replaced. Shipping is complimentary when a manufacturers defect is confirmed. Proof of purchase is required when purchased from a 3rd party.
1b. 6-Month “Miss Mayfly® Tough” Guarantee: Miss Mayfly® offers no-fee repairs within 6 months from the ship date occurring from normal use.
1c. Repairs, 6 Months & Beyond: Minor use-caused damages may be repaired for a $40 fee. Some use damage may be unrepairable. Between 6-12 months a pro-rated discount towards a new product may be offered. Please contact us to inquire.
Exclusions (1a-1c):
- Damage outside normal use.
- Damage from improper care.
- Items purchased used or second-hand.
How to Initiate a Warranty or Repair Request: Within 30 days: Choose: Initiate Warranty or Repair Return through the Help Center Dashboard.
Beyond 30 days: Choose: "Submit a Warranty or Repair Help Ticket". Customers must provide evidence/photo of the defect or damage.
Definitions
Months: Occurs on the same date of month as ship date, in the associated month.
Normal Use: In the context of wader use, fishing and wading activities refer to the actions and movements involved in fishing while standing or walking in water, which may include short walking distances through wilderness terrain to gain access to water.
These activities typically involve exposure to water, rocks, and other natural elements, which can impact the wear and tear on waders. Proper use and care are essential to maintain the durability and functionality of wading gear. Please see care instructions here.

Repair Cleaning Requirements
Any wader submitted for inspection and repair must be clean and thoroughly dried; The repair center cannot repair a dirty wader. The center has the right to reject the repair if the wader is dirty and, in this case, it will be sent back to you for cleaning. Dirty waders are a biohazard to employees who handle them since they contain human body oils and sweat and can grow microorganisms, fungus and bacteria. If the repair center deems it appropriate and necessary to clean the wader in part or in full, a $50 cleaning fee will be charged, payable by the consumer, or the wader will be returned at the customers expense, regardless of warranty status.

1d. 0-6 months: Customer pays return shipping expense, prior to shipping product. Miss Mayfly® pays the outgoing shipping expense.
